Twyla Tharp on the Subject of Motivation and Creativity

I've been reading her book and it is absolutely incredible. It's straightforward, yet general enough to apply to everyone, very orderly yet with surprises. And it lingers. Some of it won't leave my head. I really can't praise this book enough and I'm only 1/2 way through it!

What is the name of her book? And why does her name sound so incredibly familiar?

I probably should have put the name of the book on this post! It is called The Creative Habit; Learn It and Use It for Life.

Twyla Tharp is one of the most inventive and revolutionary dancers and choreographers. She choreographed Hair and Amadeus, which is where most people have seen her work without really knowing it.

She also did a huge Broadway show to Billy Joel's music called Movin' Out.

Although she talks a lot about dance, the principles are universal enough and it's more about her process than anything technical.

You should borrow it when I'm done!
