Adieu, Adieu, to You and You and You!

No, it's not going away. I'm going on vacation. That's right; Tucson bound. Relaxin', drinkin', sunnin' and funnin' and not in that order. I'll be back on the 27th with a bevy of new pictures that will blow your mind!!! or maybe just tickle it a little....

A Quick One While He's Away

My arm's all kinds of messed up. I was wondering what it would be like if I had to start using my left hand?

A Double Header for Patriot's Day!!!

Why didn't anyone tell me that there was an online Jack Kirby Museum and Study Center??? This is from a 1947 Lockjaw the Alligator for Punch and Judy Comics (July 1947, iss. 12).

This is Chad's portrait of Frank's bed bug. It reminds me of the face of Satan in a hurricane I once saw on the cover of the Weekly World News (RIP).

Remember Gags?

God, I wanted these SO BAD as a kid. Along with the dirty soap. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. And I always wanted to try the garlic gum. I love how the instructions for the X-Ray Goggles are the ad for it.

Ditko Fever

Some Ditko weirdness from the tomes of the world's most notorious retired surgeon. I was contemplating gettin the Marvel Masterworks reprint of this (I have the "phonebook" one) because Jim Hanley's Universe was having a huge Labor Day sale. But the color in it is really weird looking to me. I like the EC comic reprints, but the colors looked amped up, or maybe uncompensated for with the nice reprint. Is it just me? Especially the yellows. It almost hurts my eyes!

I think Jack Kirby's Fourth World reprint is gorgeous, though. It might be next on my list...

Electric Mud

I like this guy. Kind of like a lagoon creature, but more abstract...

I think I'll call him Sir Francis...
